One year ago ...

Today is the one-year anniversary not only of the tornado that hit Laramie and northern Colorado while I was on vacation in sunny Texas, but also of the daring rescue of my digital camera (and other purse contents) from a Mexican restaurant toilet in sunny Texas.

Yes. I am a tough Wyoming woman who fears no toilet. Well ... almost no toilet. (It was an empty-except-for-the-water toilet, for the record - I'm not THAT brave)

And I love to watch people's faces when I tell them that the camera they're holding was rescued from a toilet. Priceless.

The lesson learned from the whole experience was this: ALWAYS check to make sure a toilet has been securely bolted to the floor before you set your not-quite-closed purse on the back of it.

Otherwise ... you may face a daring rescue of your own.
