A(nother) potentially bad conversation
(Names have been changed to protect the subjects of the conversation)
Sarah: How was the weekend with June and Frank?
Matt: It was good. Frank wasn't there, though.
Sarah: He wasn't there?
Matt: Frank was at home.
Sarah: At home?
Matt: Yeah.
Sarah: I thought you went to Franks' home to visit June and Frank ...? (I'm getting kind of worried at this point - from my blind position, it's quickly turning into a creepy and sad conversation, and my brother is very, very calm about it).
Sarah: Is this some new way of telling me he's gone home? Like he died?? (Why didn't anyone tell me?)
Matt: No! No ... we went to Amy's house instead of June and Frank's. Frank was at his own house. Resting. Alive and well and recovering. At his own house.
And that, boys and girls, is why you should announce how your weekend plans changed before you freak your sister out.

But leaving out details of such stories is the best way to have people hang on your every word.
Kinda like that time in college that my housemate set my beard on fire!
