Fare thee well, Alaska
On my final day in Alaska, in that final day's final hour, the waters of the Cook Inlet decided to finally get a little choppy.
Like the inlet was waving goodbye ...
Sad.
As I later told Nate, I can't believe I didn't just ignore the return ticket and start a new life up there.
But as I told Jessi, Alaska is too breath-takingly beautiful to become my mundane, everyday experience. I'd hate to one day look at the mountains, the ocean, the beauty of it all and realize that I hadn't gasped in awe.
It's a place I can leave and dream of returning to; a place that can haunt my dreams; a place that will always be way too big for words.
I'll see you again, Alaska.
