Stuff ... and 'stuff'
I know it seems as though there's nothing going on over here, and in some ways, that's the truth. My life (you already know this) is rather low-key and predictable, with a few spots of insanity thrown in to keep things mildly interesting. But the mundane and everyday can still keep a girl busy and employed, and that's what I've been. Busily mundane. Well. For the most part.
It's not that there's not stuff to write about ... but there's stuff, and then there's "stuff" ... and the "stuff" isn't ready to be aired.
So forgive the boringness. It's all I have to offer at the moment.
In non-news, I was talking with a friend last night/this morning about where he wants to go after Laramie, what he wants to do, and I got the question turned on me, and we started talking about little Wyoming towns where I could totally see myself living and being happy (he happens to hail from just such a little Wyoming town).
And I was thinking about it today again in the shower (where so much brilliance strikes, for whatever reason), and I thought: "But ugh ... the tourists in the summer ..."
But every town has an "ugh" - and it's usually the "ugh" that makes the town thrive, and it made me laugh to think that the things that make our livelihood and our town(s) possible are the things we love to hate.
In Gillette, people say: "ugh - the gas/oilfield workers and the coal miners ... they're so rough ..."
In Laramie, people say: "ugh - the students ... they're so obnoxious and inconsiderate ..."
In (small Wyoming town), people say: "ugh - the tourists ... they're so dumb and rude ..."
And in other non-news: Dancing is still nice. I'd forgotten that.
