Today's feel-good moment
In the midst of this morning's workout, as I was helping the other guy in the class do his leg lifts, my coach looked over at us while my workout partner groaned and let his legs collapse catawampus on the floor.
"My core sucks," he gasped. I assured him that he'd get better and to take Advil tonight.
"Otherwise, you're gonna hurt a lot tomorrow." (I wasn't able to sneeze without agony for several weeks ...). Jason chimed in: "This stuff'll really get you in shape, though." (very true)
"I have to practice these at home to be able to do them here," I said, shoving B's legs toward the floor again as he groaned and collapsed again. "I use my sofa for support, and it moves across the living room with me. ... C'mon - fifteen seconds left! You can do anything for fifteen seconds!" (thump - collapse) Maybe not.
Jason nodded, looked away ... then looked back.
"Wait. YOU'VE LOST WEIGHT! Haven't you? Haven't you?!? Damn, girl - you've lost a (lot) of weight! I just now noticed! You make me feel proud!"
Aw, shucks, Jason. Coming from a coach who's pretty brutal in his conditioning workouts, that's a big thing. And that made me feel proud.
