A not-too-bright girl learned late one night — snowbound in her apartment and surrounded by what she thought were friendly houseplants — that the worst thing you can do on a snowbound night is watch an M. Night Shyamalan movie that promotes the theory that plants will soon release a neurotoxin that will debilitate the self-preservation mechanism in our brains and will cause us all to kill ourselves.

I'm most suspicious of the spider plants ...
