Celebrate good times, c'mon!

Today, for the less educated among you, is National Jelly Bean Day.

Tomorrow is National Talk Like Shakespeare Day.

And April 26 is Hug an Australian Day.

You need to know these things to be good a citizen of the world. To tie it all in, you should hug Australians who talk like Shakespeare while eating jelly beans. You'd be a rockstar then.

Today began International Whistler's Week, and we are also in the midst of National Cowboy Poetry Week. Yeehaw.

Which brings me to this:

I like cowboy poetry. I don't like to read it, but I love hearing it recited. It's soothing to listen to, and it makes me think of barbecues and warm summer nights and soft-spoken cowboys who have great stories to share and lots of time to share them.

And if you can hug an Australian cowboy, you get bonus points. And jelly beans.
