a very merry un-Christmas
The problem with buying holiday-flavored anything is that one rarely ever consumes all of the special product within a reasonable amount of time surrounding the holiday.
And so it happens that a person (me, in this instance) winds up drinking teas with such names as "Candy Cane Lane," "Nutcracker Sweet" and "Sugar Cookie Sleighride" at the end of January, wondering how 20 bags of tea can seemingly never be completely used; using lotions that have names like "Vanilla Bean Noel" and "The Perfect Pumpkin" around Valentine's Day; finishing up the last of the gingerbread-flavored yogurt; and still tackling the leftover goodies from a Harry and David Christmas care package and from a Chocolate Cellar gift bag.
Christmas is exciting to look forward to; it's fun to extend a week or so into the New Year's festivities.
By the end of January, though ... it's kind of wearisome.
But some innate sense in me won't allow me to just throw away the flavored stuff. I bought it. I'll use it. And I'll get excited to buy it again next fall ... In the meantime, I'm slurping down my fourth mug of Candy Cane Lane green tea in two days.

Ahh, I just had 4 cups of Sugar Cookie Sleighride last evening. Don't even get me started on the numerous bottles of Vanilla Bean Noel under the bathroom sink... where did the holidays go?
... and then I found packages of "Christmas Eve" and "White Christmas" teabags when I tidied up my desk ... perhaps it's not so odd after all that I had Elvis' "Blue Christmas" stuck in my head this afternoon ...
